Veterinary and Fishery Sciences
Animal health, dairy, fisheries — a science-led rural-impact career.
18 professions · 14 exams · 65 institutes
Veterinary Science (BVSc & AH) in India is regulated by the Veterinary Council of India (VCI). Admission is largely via NEET-UG (15% All-India through VCI) plus state-quota counselling. Fishery Science (B.F.Sc) is a separate 4-year programme under ICAR-affiliated universities, with admission via ICAR AIEEA or state CETs.
Graduates work in government veterinary hospitals, dairy co-operatives (Amul, NDDB Anand), poultry and aquaculture firms, wildlife conservation, pet clinics, pharma R&D and food safety. Gujarat — home to NDDB, Amul, Kamdhenu University, and the College of Veterinary Science at Anand and Navsari — is one of India's strongest states for this field.
