Rehabilitation Sciences include physiotherapy (BPT), occupational therapy (BOT), prosthetics & orthotics (BPO), speech-language pathology, audiology, clinical psychology, special education and developmental therapy. Most programmes are 4 to 4.5 years including internship, regulated variously by NCAHP, Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), and state universities. Admission is via NEET / CUET-UG / state CETs / institute tests depending on the course.
Demand is rising sharply with India's ageing population, road-trauma load and growing awareness of developmental disorders. Career settings span hospitals, sports academies, special schools, old-age and palliative care, corporate ergonomics and private practice.
