Performing Arts
Music, theatre, dance and film — trained, not just talented.
27 professions · 8 exams · 60 institutes
Performing Arts in India can be pursued through formal university programmes (BA / BPA in music, dance, theatre at BHU, Delhi University, MSU Baroda, MS University, Shantiniketan, Rabindra Bharati, FTII, SRFTI, NSD, KM Music Conservatory, Whistling Woods, AR Rahman's KM Music Conservatory) and through long-form guru-shishya training that runs in parallel.
Career outcomes include performance, music production, sound design, choreography, theatre directing, arts education, music therapy, film/OTT production roles, and increasingly the creator economy (YouTube musicians, indie artists). It is one of the few streams where consistent practice from Class 6–7 onwards genuinely changes outcomes.
