Hotel, Hospitality and Tourism Management

Hospitality programmes in India fall into three buckets: government IHMs admitted through NCHMCT JEE (now NTA-administered), university BHM / BBA Hospitality degrees (CUET-UG or institute tests), and private specialised schools (Welcomgroup, Oberoi STEP, IIHM, ITM). Programmes typically include hands-on kitchen, F&B service, front-office and housekeeping rotations.
Career outcomes go well beyond hotels: airlines and cruise lines, QSR chains, event and wedding management, hospital and corporate facility management, culinary entrepreneurship, and tourism boards. Stamina, language skills and emotional resilience matter more than top-percentile academics.
